Kinder & Co supplied its K-Snap-Loc dust seal system to a bulk solar salt customer in WA to resolve a salt spillage issue.

The customer had been experiencing a significant salt material spillage problem around the conveyor transfer point area. Kinder & Co’s assistance was sought to address two key challenges: to find a way to effectively contain the low mass salt particles from bouncing off the high speed belt; and, considering the salt’s highly corrosive properties, to prevent the increasing spillage accumulating onto the conveyor’s steel supporting structure. Both of these spillage problems required additional manual labour resources to clear away the mess.

Following a consultation with Kinder & Co, the customer chose the K-Snap-Loc dust seal as a better dust suppression solution. Made from high quality engineered polyurethane, K-Snap-Loc dust seal is very lightweight and easy to install, requiring minimal labour. Advantages also include high durability and corrosion resistance, which will require less replacement skirting in future, helping to achieve significant cost savings and reduce scheduled maintenance shutdowns. The customer also confirmed the simple installation of the K-Snap-Loc dust seal system.
