A major supplier has no difficulty delivering large office machines to factories, warehouses and other locations where stairs have to be navigated. Mitronics hires a SR 450 battery-electric, rubber tracked stair-climber from Kennards Lift and Shift .
Dennis Skusek and Mitch Walker deliver about 25 machines a week for the company, which is one of Australia’s large independently owned office equipment suppliers. When they encounter stairs, they simply call in to Kennards Lift and Shift and pick up a stair-climber. Th SR 450 battery-electric, rubber tracked stair climber recently delivered a printer-copier-scanner weighing more than 200kg.
The SR 450 stair climber carries loads up to 350kg at a maximum angle of 45 degrees. It weighs 49kg and is 460mm wide. Twin rubber tracks spread the load equally over three treads of stairway, while a folding swivel wheel provides easy turning in confined spaces.
Kennards Lift and Shift also has Escalarah vertical stair climbers, which carry up to 300kg and weigh 56kg, and a lighter duty model which weighs just 20kg and handles loads of up to 40kg. Forklift attachments are also available on some models. For larger loads, stair robots, with a capacity of up to 1000kg, can be hired.
