A rotary Kleen device attached to a 4000psi cold water blaster was hired from Kennards Hire to keep one of Sydney’s most popular marinas looking its best this summer.
Kennards Hire Burwood provided the cleaning package to d’Albora Marinas at Cabarita Point, one of seven facilities operated in NSW and Victoria by the latter.
A simple water blaster would not have been sufficient for cleaning the concrete walkways linking the 135 berths, says Marina dockmaster Rod McManus. In addition to taking extra time to complete the cleaning work, this method would have potentially damaged the vessels with the grit in the overspray.
He adds that the rotary cleaning attachment speeds up the work and makes it easier and more effective.
According to machine operator Lucas Ringrose, the swirling brush action brought dirt and grime to the surface of the concrete, which was washed away with a hose before it dried.
He was able to clean up the place quickly and spotlessly, especially the area around the kiosk and restaurant, which received a fair amount of traffic and spills.
Kennards offers a comprehensive range of water blasters for all cleaning situations, including 4000psi and 2000psi petrol powered and 1200psi electric-powered units, along with 1500psi hot water machines.
The 240V hot water blasters are especially suitable for removing oil, grease and substances such as chewing gum.
Kennards Hire operates 122 hire centres around Australia, including four new outlets in the Northern Territory and another in the Adelaide Hills.
