THE extraordinary growth of Kennards Hire has continued with the addition of four new hire centres in different states.
New branches have opened, or are about to open, at Coffs Harbour in regional NSW, Geelong in regional Victoria, Cleveland in Brisbane and Rockingham in Perth.
Over the past 10 years, the number of Kennards outlets has grown from 21 to 85, including those of specialist divisions, Kennards Concrete Care and Kennards Lift & Shift.
Managing director Peter Lancken said that, while growth was important, the company's aim continued to be the best hire company, not necessarily the biggest.
Lanken is proud that the high standards achieved by his staff have provided a springboard for expansion. He states that Kennards must continue to be focused on quality in everything it does.
Kennards gained its Coffs Harbour branch, on the Mid North Coast of NSW, through the acquisition of All-Ways Hire, which was operated for 33 years by the Thorsby family.
This location fills a gap between hire centres at Port Macquarie, which opened last year, and the Gold Coast.
Kennards' new Geelong branch, which is the company's first in regional Victoria, follows the acquisition of the general hire business of Marshall Hire, which has been operating in the area for 36 years.
The Cleveland branch, in the bayside suburbs of Brisbane, resulted from the acquisition of Hire Plus, which has been operating for about five years. Cleveland is more than 20km from the nearest existing Kennards outlets at Springwood and East Brisbane.
Kennards' new branch in Rockingham in Perth is a completely new hire centre, as the site was previously occupied by a home improvements business. It will be the company' seventh hire centre in Perth.
