Pump & Power supplied 11 large generators for a highway widening project to meet temporary power supply requirements.
The 250kVA generators supplied by Kennards Hire were synchronised to provide 500kVA output as part of a temporary power strategy during the widening of the Great Eastern Highway in Perth.
Electrcraft Electrics, a contractor for Western Power hired the generators from Kennards Hire Pump & Power in Perth for one critical weekend when electric supply to a few big establishments along the highway would have been impacted, causing disruption in their operations.
These establishments included a BHP Biliton remote management operation and the Assured Ascot Quays Apartment Hotel. Once the generators took over, it was business as usual for these companies.
According to Edward McCoppin, who operates Electrcraft Electrics, five of the 11 generators were 250kVA units, which were synchronised in two lots of two to provide 500kVA for a couple of the businesses.
Electrcraft Electrics, a specialist provider of temporary power has been regularly hiring the units since Kennards started the large generators operation in Perth in 2009.
Kennards Hire Pump & Power offers specialist equipment hire centres in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
