Kennards Hire  Pump & Power supplied a temporary power package to Cable Layers Australia to help carry out a new underground installation in the mining town of Newman located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Kennards Hire supplied 1.5 megawatts of temporary power to support the new electrical installation by Cable Layers Australia. The package consisted of one 500kVA and four 250kVA generators, the latter being synchronised to make two 500kVA generators.
Newman was originally a closed mining town built by BHP Biliton, but is now a central hub for diverse mining operations.
Jason Knight, managing director of Cable Layers Australia explained that they had to drop the overhead power while laying the new cable. BHP Biliton however stipulated that generators were required if the outages extended beyond four hours.
Cable Layers Australia was very happy with the quality of Kennards’ generators and service.
Kennards Hire Pump & Power supplies power generators to some of the remotest parts of Australia with the range having recently been expanded to include 1250kVA units.
Kennards Hire Pump & Power operates equipment hire centres in Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
