Kennards Hire are proud to be part of a project that will offer teenagers with no place to call home a secure place from where they can build their lives.
Kennards Hire, the Kennard family, and building company Total Construction have teamed up to renovate and fund the operation of a second Stepping Stone House, which will accommodate four youths at a time, along with one staff member.
Stepping Stone House is a community based charity that was established in Sydney 20 years ago to help young people, who are left homeless through no fault of their own, gain stability in a family atmosphere duriing an average stay of 18 months to two years.
A registered charity with no connection to any church or political organisation, and that receives no Government funding, has helped more than 300 young people since its first home was opened.
Kennards Hire and the Kennard family are each donating $50,000 a year for three years, while Total Construction, which has financially supported the first Stepping Stone House for several years, has carried out major renovations without labour charge.
As well as donating an extensive amount of hire equipment used on the project, Kennards Hire is looking at providing young residents with work experience or casual to fulltime work positions at its hire centres.
