The network of Kennards Hire branches specialising in supplying large generators has been expanded, allowing for a wider range of options across Australia.

20kVA, 45kVA, 60kVA and 100kVA generators can now be hired across the country, with some variation between locations. In addition, 200kVA units can be hired in Western Australia.

Kennards Hire customers have the option of fast delivery when hiring a generator, or they can self-tow trailer mounted units up to 100kVA in capacity.

The expanded fleet of generators can meet a wide variety of needs that include:

  • power network support
  • building and construction
  • mining
  • local government
  • armed forces
  • events
  • hospitals
  • hotels
  • restaurants
  • schools
  • shipping;
  • and data storage companies.
Nick Johnston Landscapes Pty Ltd hired one of Kennards’ 45kVA generators while upgrading courtyards and outdoor eating areas at the University of Western Sydney’s Parramatta campus.

Project manager Heath Thompson says the site needed a sufficiently powerful generator to satisfy the requirements of a concrete finishing subcontractor as well as his own team.

About 5000 square metres of decorative concrete was polished by the subcontractor, Honestone, using a power hungry, three phase planetary grinder, smaller grinders and vacuum units.

Power supply was provided by a 32 amp power distribution board.
