Kennards Hire has announced the opening of its new branch in Port Douglas, its fourth location in far north Queensland. Other outlets in the region are at Cairns, Mackay and Townsville.
Situated on the Captain Cook Highway the new Kennards branch fills the void in the area that was left by the closure of a large hire centre late last year. Kennards Hire saw an opportunity to expand its far north Queensland branch network while supporting local contractors, tradesmen and home improvers.
The manager of the new machine hire outlet is Craig Sherston, who has worked in the local hire industry for many years and is well known locally. Craig and his team already have a large range of equipment to work with, and new items will be added.
Portable toilets can now be hired, along with a Bobcat, 3.5 tonne and 1.5 tonne excavators, 4 tonne and 1.5 tonne ride-on rollers and generators up to 65KVA in size.
The 65KVA generator is a brand new unit as is a trailer-mounted 6in (150mm) diesel pump, which can move up to 132 litres per second. New 3in (75mm) submersible pumps have also been added to the equipment range.
Alongside the larger items for contractors, the hire centre also carries a variety of home improvement equipment ranging from wallpaper steamers and floor sanders to lawnmowers and whipper snippers.
