Kennards Hire offers a less invasive and more precise method of excavation with the introduction of trailer-mounted non-destructive vacuum excavators to their hire equipment range.
Presently available from select equipment hire centres, the vacuum excavators are ideal for potholing and other small excavations involving wet or dry remediation of soil, offering utilities, councils and contractors a flexible, low cost, portable digging solution.
Kennards’ new vacuum excavators allow small, deep, precisely-controlled holes to be dug quickly to uncover buried utilities without the risk posed by a backhoe or excavator.
Key components of the vacuum excavators include a 946-litre tank to accommodate the dirt and a 378-litre water tank with attached hose and wand for water jet blasting. The units come with a 575cfm pump and are powered by a 25hp Kubota diesel engine with electric start and throttle.
Grays Plumbing Services recently hired a new vacuum excavator from Kennards Hire Girraween to enlarge a stormwater drainage pit from 600mm x 600mm to 900mm x 900mm in dimension.
Contractor Todd Gray explains that they were able to suck out the dirt without having to get a big machine in for the job. The machine was able to handle tennis ball-sized solids without a problem. Having seen the vacuum excavator’s performance, he plans to buy one for his operation.
