Libby McLean was able to achieve a polished stone finish on her carport floor and driveway with a new heavy-duty 240V concrete grinder from Kennards Hire
The fashion industry professional undertook a series of renovation jobs on her newly purchased 1950s cottage, but was disappointed with the results of the first concrete grinders hired for the task.
Her luck changed when Kennards Hire Belmont took delivery of a heavy-duty 240V satellite grinder. Kennards branch manager Tony Havis personally delivered the concrete grinder at Libby’s cottage, and also spent an hour trying the different grinding stones he’d brought in the truck to make sure the right ones were fitted to get the desired finish. He also demonstrated all aspects of the machine’s operation and ensured Libby was comfortable with it.
Libby ground 2-3mm off the new carport floor and driveway of her cottage to produce a polished stone finish, which she described as ‘a cool and unique entrance, opposed to plain concrete or exposed aggregate’.
She also found the machine easy to use, similar to ‘a floor buffer’, and was very happy with the results. Libby has blogged about her experience with renovating the cottage including the help received from the Kennards’ centre in Belmont, Geelong.
For dry grinding, Kennards Hire supplies a special high performance vacuum unit, which attaches to the concrete grinders.
Kennards Hire operates 124 equipment hire centres around Australia.
