An EDCO concrete grinder, dating back to the 1960s, becomes the latest addition to the Kennards Hire Museum.
The Kennard brothers, Andy and Neville, first discovered the EDCO concrete grinder in America, and believing that it would be popular, decided to hire the grinder to their own customers.
Member of the Kennards Hire board, Gus Kennard, decided that EDCO grinder should be part of the museum’s collection, as it was the first model of grinder of its kind to be hired by his father in the 1960s. After a thorough search Gus managed to find the same model at a scrap yard in California called SoCal Rentals.
The concrete grinder was transported to the east coast of the US where it was carefully restored to its original condition, with the help of EDCO’s Jason Stanczyk and Leo Swan. It was then shipped to Australia and presented to Gus’s father Andy as a surprise.
Gus Kennard thanked EDCO for their help in the grinder’s restoration and attributed the project’s ease to the great relationship between the two companies.
