A small, diamond-head concrete grinder which is available across the Kennards Hire branch network has plenty of bite while being lightweight and easy to use.
Designed for work in small in small to medium size areas, it can be used to remove glue, paint and epoxy from concrete floors and correct uneven surfaces.
It will also grind down high points, provide a smooth decorative finish and remove painted lines from asphalt.
A major feature of the machine is that sections of the three-piece disc guard detach for work up against walls.
Jim Matheos, who operates Stencilman Resurfacing, used a Kennards grinder to remove a 6mm to 8mm layer of grout from a path and patio area totalling about 60 square metres.
“We covered about 20 square metres an hour, which I consider to be good going,” he said.
“Terra cotta tiles had become loose. We pulled them up and grinded the surface back before applying spray-on paving.
“This is a good little unit. It uses a diamond rotary disc and has provision for a vacuum cleaner to be attached.
“It operates quietly and when compared with older grinders it is light and easy to manoeuvre.
“The handles fold down so you could even carry it in the boot of a car.”
The machine is among a big range of concrete grinders, mowers and
renovators which can be hired from Kennards Hire and specialist equipment division, Kennards Concrete Care.
Kennards Hire, with more than 90 locations, has small to medium size grinders, planers, mowers and renovators.
Specialist supplier, Kennards Concrete Care, has the same range, but also has much larger, heavy duty machines for construction and industrial work.
The two operations work closely together to find the right machine for customers.
