KENNARDS Hire has released a broach cutter that makes drilling holes in thick steel quicker and easier. Instead of cutting a solid mass of steel, the broach bit simply cuts a ring so that a plug falls out. Reducing the amount of material that is cut saves time. The broach cutter is suitable for overhead and horizontal work.
While the broach bit is used with a magnetic drill press, the overall unit is half the weight and size of the older magnetic base drill. It is powered by a 1400W, two-speed motor, and has a water bottle and feed tube for cooling. Drill bits range from 12mm to 65mm, with a maximum drilling depth in steel of 50mm.
