A 2500R profiler and mini loader was hired from Kennards Concrete Care to remove 680m² of tiled walkways during a shopping centre refurbishment.
Taylor Group Constructions was contracted by Local Government Super, the owner of Sturt Mall in Wagga Wagga, NSW to refurbish and upgrade the internal glazed atrium arcade and replace external tiled walkway surfaces.
All the demolition work had to be executed at night since the shopping centre had to remain operational during the course of the work.
It was also important for the substrate to be reasonably smooth after tile removal so that shoppers could use the walkway safely the next day.
Dave Taylor from Taylor Group Constructions was recommended the 2500R profiler and mini loader, together with a medium industrial vacuum unit by Kennards Concrete Care.
Dave’s operators found the machine simple to use once they became familiar with the operation. While jack-hammering was an option, it would have been slower and would have left a fair amount of damage to the substrate.
The 2500R profiler and mini loader allowed tiles removal without causing much damage to the substrate, enabling them to install the new tiles directly on to the surface with minimal effort. The job was completed on time with excellent results.
Kennards Concrete Care operates equipment hire centres in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
