Leading European manufacturer of isolated pressure transducers and transmitters, Keller AG has introduced one of the smallest fully functional digital combination transmitters for pressure and temperature measurement.
The Keller LD series is designed to accommodate all electronic components in a laser-welded stainless steel housing filled with silicone oil. Measuring a mere 11mm in diameter, the housing contains the sensor technology, the (mathematical) compensation coefficients, the digital signal processing and the I2C interface for simple, loss-free integration into higher-level systems.
Made of stainless steel or Hastelloy, the housing not only acts as a Faraday cage but also offers appropriate pro¬tection against electromagnetic radiation and all potential environmental influences. Thanks to the Chip-in-Oil techno¬logy developed by Keller, extremely short signal paths with exceptionally high impact and vibration resistance are realised.
Key features of Keller LD series digital pressure transmitters include six standard measurement ranges from 1 to 200 bar abs. with a compensated temperature range of -10°C to +80°C; accuracy rated as better than ± 0.15%FS, and total error band of less than ± 0.5 %FS attained between 0-50°C; temperature measurement accuracy of ± 2 K; optimised for battery-powered applications; supply voltage range of 1.8-3.6 VDC corresponding to a normal microprocessor environment; and diameter of just 11mm with larger models measuring 15mm, 17mm and 19mm also available for relative pressure measurements along with additional temperature range (-40°C to +110°C) without changes to the electrical characteristics.
