Flash Point Testing is important in determining the hazard classification of many substances including Flavours and Fragrances.
Flash Point is the lowest temperature at which a liquid generates enough vapour to ignite when mixed with oxygen.
Stanhope Seta has introduced the new Series 8 Closed Cup Flash Point Tester, an updated version of the Series 7.
The Series 8 Closed Cup Flash Point Tester has a temperature range from ambient to 300oC or -20 to 130oC for the peltier cooled model. This new instrument has the option of either electric of gas ignition.
The Series 8 Closed Cup Flash Point Tester has a ramp facility, which automatically increases the temperature of the sample at a rate of 2oC/min until a flash is detected.
The dipping sequence occurs automatically every 1oC up to 100oC and every 2oC above 100oC until either a flash is detected or the end of test temperature is reached.
When the test is complete, the sample cup is cooled by forced air to reduce cycle time between tests.
The Series 8 Closed Cup Flash Point Tester features a colour LCD screen and soft key controls. Up to 64 results can be stored in memory and downloaded to a computer or printer.
The Series 8 Closed Cup Flash Point Tester is available from John Morris Scientific .
