The campaign conducted by John Morris Scientific
since February this year to locate the oldest working Gilson pipette in Australia and New Zealand has a winner.
A working Gilson P200 manufactured prior to 1979 and submitted by Ms Denise Lupton, Chief Technician at The University of Western Australia has been selected as the oldest working Gilson pipette model. Ms Lupton won the latest Gilson Pipetman M for her efforts.
According to Ms Lupton, Gilson pipettes are recognised for their durability, and are great for teaching as they can withstand handling by students.
Additionally, the pipettes are easy and simple to maintain. Announcing the winner, Andre Wyzenbeek, General Manager of John Morris Scientific said that a working pipette after over 30 years is testament to Gilson’s renowned precision, robustness and longevity.
