Brunswick Scientific have introduced a new bench top stirred tank bioreactor, the CelliGen BLU, for high density animal cell culture in research or production.
Available from John Morris Scientific , this bench-top stirred tank bioreactor features pre-validated, pre-sterilized single use vessels (5L and 14L) with an advanced controller, combining all the benefits of single-use technology with the trusted performance and true scalability of a stirred tank design.
The CelliGen BLU bioreactor contains powerful Reactor Process Controller (RPC) firmware which provides advanced process management and monitoring capabilities. An adjustable touch-screen monitor allows operators to easily set and monitor up to 32 process parameters, store up to 10 recipes for easy access and view up to eight parameters simultaneously on user-customisable trend graphs.
The CelliGen BLU biorector's built-in security features allow managers to set different levels of functionality for various operators and passwords to prevent unauthorised users from making changes to the system.
Three high-performance, assignable, fixed-speed pumps enable additions and harvesting with these bench top stirred tank bioreactors. Built-in controls are also provided for temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and three or four gas mixing.
Up to four Thermal Mass Flow Controllers (TMFC) for fully independent gas control are available for sparging, and a gas overlay with TMFC or Rotameter is available for independent control of gas entering the vessel headspace.
A range of accessories are available for the CelliGen BLU bioreactor, including:
- weight scales for measuring additions and vessel volume
- gas analysers
- supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software; and
- validation packages.
