John Morris Scientific introduce Martin Christ’s Epsilon series Pilot-Scale freeze dryers. Epsilon Pilot-scale freeze dryers assist production scale technology and are used for upscaling laboratory research, production freeze drying cycle development as well as small scale production.
The entry model Epsilon 2-4 D achieves a shelf temperature range of -70oC to +80oC. The 2-4 D is available with one shelf with an area of 0.11sqm. The ice condenser temperature reaches below -80oC. The anodized aluminium shelves are electronically heated and passively cooled, making the 2-4D an economic model appropriate for experimental and routine freeze drying.
The Epsilon 2-6 D has a shelf temperature range of -50oC to +60oC. The 2-6 D is available with a maximum of four shelves with an area of 0.28sqm. The maximum distance between shelves is 75mm (with three shelves). The ice condenser has a temperature of -85oC degrees, this ensures the shortest drying times and optimal protection of the included vacuum pump. All shelves are actively cooled and heated allowing unmatched control of the process. Martin Christ use a unique three compressor design to ensure the highest cooling rates during product freezing and stable shelf temperatures during the drying process. The 2-6D fulfils the highest standards for pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Epsilon 2-10 D has a shelf temperature range of -45oC to +60oC. The 2-10 D is available with a maximum of seven shelves with an area of 0.84sqm. The maximum distance between shelves is 70mm (with 5 shelves). Like the Epsilon 2-6D, the 2-10D has an ice condenser temperature of -85oC and features three compressors to gain the highest performance.
All freeze dryers feature a professional programmable user interface, LSC. The LSC controller allows free programming of all functions including pre-freezing, main drying and final drying. Alarm and sample protection functions ensure that the product is protected from melting.
Martin Christ Epsilon series freeze dryers allow the use of Martin Christ’s world wide unique Lyosensor LC 1, which combines temperature and electrical resistance measurement for economic yet precise freezing point measurement.
Windows based LPC-32 software is available for PC process control and documentation. LPC-32 is widely used in large freeze drying production systems and fulfils GAMP and cGMP and CFR 21 part 11 guidelines.
Martin Christ’s Epsilon series freeze dryers can be upgraded or modified to meet the individual requirements for process optimization and scale-up.
