When the Christmas decorations are packed away and the excitement of the festive season is behind, what is left for many people is often a bleak 12 months stretching out in front of them in a boring, unsatisfying or poorly paying job.
It is no wonder then that many people view the New Year as the perfect time to consider a career move.
With today’s flexibility the career you enter the work force with need not be the career you end up in 30 years later, or even 5 years later.
People change and as they do their skills, limitations, living arrangements and personal goals change along with them. Naturally a career path will echo these changes.
When asked what is the single big motivating factor in new franchisees, Jim’s Cleaning founder Haydar Hussein cited a change of career goals, or the desire for a better lifestyle.
Haydar says “the new year is often the time that people contact us about a business, as they return to work after holidays to find that the career stretching in front of them may not give them everything they want in life.”
While many workers also flood internet employment sites around the beginning of the New Year, more and more people are changing their ideas about a career track and looking at owning their own business as a flexible, rewarding alternative.
