Built in 1862, Penrith’s Red Cow Inn or The Calf (as it’s been renamed by the local’s, due to the current construction and downsizing of the hotel), has been through many changes, but none as significant as the recently completed renovations.
A heritage-listed hotel, The Red Cow has received a full restoration with the facade of the hotel returned to its original state as designed and built in 1862. The old world charm of the building contrast with the new entertainment technology supplied and installed by Saltec.
For the outdoor speakers in the beer garden, there was only one choice for Saltec, the JBL Control 29AV, of which six are used, as well as two Control 25T speakers in a smaller beer garden.
The only way to go is with the JBL Control 29AV speakers, which are good; weather proof and can be painted to suit the interior. The hotel owner particularly liked the fact that they can be painted at anytime to suit the décor.
Two DBX ZonePro 1216 digital signal processors and nine DBX ZC8 wall panels provide the processing and control of the sound system throughout the venue, as well as offering multiple forms of control to further extend the versatility of the system.
The dbx ZonePro is a good product for a great price. The dbx ZonePro has all the inbuilt features one would need such as volume limiting and EQ, features that can be set up with laptop computers, and then the staff cannot fiddle with them.
