Shure introduced two new products to their UHF-R series of wireless systems at this year’s NAB and Prolight+Sound tradeshows. The two new products are designed for broadcasters and users of portable wireless systems.
Shure’s UR3 is a range of plug-on wireless transmitters designed to work with the UHF-R series, which will turn wired microphones of virtually any type into wireless microphones.
The UR3 features an ergonomic design that allows the user to hold the body of the transmitter in the curve of the hand with recessed signal and battery indication LEDs permitting the user to monitor the status, without the emitted light being picked up on camera.
The UR3 features a microphone preset list to allow commonly used microphones to have their settings stored within the unit. This feature saves set-up time for different microphone types while a high-pass filter can also be activated if required. The UR3 also features a full range of phantom power provided from two AA batteries.
The new Shure wireless systems also include the UR5, a line of portable camera-mount single channel receivers for UHF-R wireless transmitters.
Roughly the size of a belt pack, the receiver is full featured with diversity antennas, full bandwidth scan and synch at the touch of a button, headphone monitoring output jack as well as mic and aux-level balanced output. The UR5 will also feature a large range of mounting and power accessories.
Shure products are available from Jands , a leading Australian distributor of sound equipment, lighting systems and staging equipment.
