Jands is expecting a shipping of the new Shure UR5 portable wireless microphone for cameras and DSLR’s in late October. The portable microphones provide professional, wireless audio and are compatible with the current UHF-R series transmitters.
The UR5 microphone receivers were showcased earlier this year at NAB 2011, to mark Shure’s return to the broadcast market, along with a range of new professional broadcast products including the microphones, an omnidirectional wireless capsule, and a plug-on UHF-R transmitter.
The wireless microphone receivers offer all of the power and functionality of a UHF-R single rackmount receiver, with the addition of some extra user friendly functionality and features, all packaged in a small beltpack style chassis.
The single camera mount receivers are available with many options from Anton/Bauer and offers full scan abilities to:
- automatically provide the clearest frequency and apply it to the receiver,
- use a group or channel scan, or
- use a previously specified frequency.
The UR5 also offers a multiple transmitter mode, which allows the easy creation and access of a preset list of up to 20 transmitter frequency. This preset list can be copied and shared with other UR5 wireless receivers to enable redundant or multiple camera applications.
The wireless microphone recievers also feature a tone generator for level checking, headphone socket for monitoring and an optional rechargeable battery pack, as well as a whole host of other standard accessories.
