Sydney audio visual hire company EventSound operate using a range of JBL audio equipment supplied by Jands , and this past summer they were very busy giving their gear a run for its money all over the city.
From events such as the Sydney Running Festival to Jazz in the Gardens and even Prince William at the Black, the versatile JBL VRX compact line array system purchased from Jands made life much easier for the crew.
At the RedBull Junior Surf Pro held on Cronulla beach, and featuring a line up of bands including Urthboy and Children Collide, EventSound supplied audio equipment and lighting systems for a temporary beach stage, as well as links into the VIP marquee.
With the need to generate even sound coverage down the beach, EventSound managing director Keith Clarkson says the JBL VRX audio equipment was perfectly suited.
Keith says that since purchasing the JBL VRX, the company has found it to be a versatile piece of audio equipment, and this was one of the occasions where it was put to task as a large scale concert box.
Six VRX 932LAP boxes were flown at the site, along with two VRX918 subs. Two more 932 boxes were adopted for ground fill on top of four side VRX918 subwoofers.
Ten JBL SRX 712M monitors were used for stage foldback. Sidefills and drumfills were all powered by Crown XTI 4000 amplifiers.
Soundcraft GB Series mixing consoles were used at both FOH and monitor positions whilst all radio microphones were Shure UHF-R series.
