JBL Sound Systems, available from Jands , introduces the JBL VRX932 powered compact line array system. The JBL VRX932 was recently used by Sydney’s EventSound, an Australian production company.
“JBL VRX powered system is so easy to use – just add signal and power and off you go,” says managing director, Keith Clarkson. “We bought four VRX932LAP 12-inch powered loudspeakers and one pair of VRX918SP 18-inch powered subwoofers. We team the subwoofers with our four existing JBL SRX718 subs to make a total of six. They look exactly the same and have the same components but are un-powered.”
Clarkson already a owned ten JBL SRX712 speakers, as well as four SRX718’s, before purchasing the VRX system.
“JBL has a distinctive sound in that range and choosing the VRX meant we could complement it with the SRX as in-fills or delays when required,” he noted. “The VRX has a lot more power than the SRX and is much better for the medium to large events that we do.”
The JBL VRX array system was used at a party held at the Trackdown recording rooms in Fox Studios, where the venue was decorated as a 70’s Club with Bjorn Again (pictured) as the main entertainment. JBL VRX was the main PA with a Soundcraft GB4 for mix front of house and also a Soundcraft monitor console. Added to that were JBL SRX 712M wedges, Crown XTI 4000 amplifiers and Shure UHF-R Radio systems.
