Located on the sandstone shores of the historic ‘Rocks’ Sydney, Australia’s colonial birthplace, Italian Village, is a three-level, three-room restaurant and function centre catering for up to 100 seated and 250 cocktail. With 180 degree views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, Italian Village is the latest addition to the Dockside Group that has been transformed into a stylish venue appealing to the top end of the corporate sector.
Impact AV were employed to design and install a premium quality sound system with a well distributed speaker design and placement, multi room control on every level and wireless microphone use on all levels.
According to Silas Creel, Managing Director, Impact AV, the clients demanded flexibility within the venue to have different zones or the zones could be combined to make one zone. To have same sound throughout the entire venue or different sounds in various areas controlled either on one level or one on each level individually, 64 JBL Control 25AV speakers and 6 JBL Control 24CTM speakers, all powered by 7 Crown CDI 1000 amplifiers were specified.

The system includes a BLU-80 signal processor, a BLU-32 I/O expanders, the BLU-8 simple to use controllers and BLU-10 programmable controllers.
A BSS BLU-10 was deployed on the ground level for four-zone level and source control, leaving plenty of room for versatility. Multiple BLU-8 controllers were deployed for upstairs area control.
As the venue heavily targets the corporate and functions market, particularly weddings, Shure ULX UHF wireless systems were incorporated with a distributed antennae system, so that the microphones could operate anywhere within the venue. Additional inputs were also provided for line mixers, iPod inputs and Stanton commercial CD players on every floor, so a local music source could be selected any time.
