ASV Audio Visual was engaged by Cottee Parker Architects to install an audio system at the newly renovated Darra Chapel in Brisbane.
According to Rod Fishwick, managing director of ASV Audio Visual, the design and architecture of the long and narrow chapel required a particular small frame speaker but they also had some band requirements.
The JBL CBT 70J speakers fitted the requirements perfectly, offering both voice intelligibility as well as the fullness to support organs and some light band music.
Featuring Constant Beamwidth Technology, JBL CBT 70J speakers represent a breakthrough in pattern control consistency, utilising complex analogue delay beam-forming and amplitude tapering to accomplish superior, consistent vertical coverage without the narrow vertical beaming and out-of coverage lobbing that are typical of straight form-factor column speakers.
Additionally, the JBL CBT 70J speakers with their slim and compact construction fit well into the architectural design of the building. The 70cm tall line array height provides consistent pattern control throughout the intelligibility band, making the CBT 70J work well in difficult acoustic environments.
The audio installation includes five pairs of JBL CBT 70J speakers positioned down the length of the chapel whilst JBL Control ceiling speakers service the foyer area.
The audio equipment has been well appreciated by everyone visiting the chapel for the crystal clear sound quality all over.
