JAMES Walker’s Moorflex Flange Protectors provide a versatile and easy-to-fit system to boost the efficiency, safety and life of process industry pipelines.
The protectors also offer environmental benefits and simplify maintenance with corrosion reduction and easier disassembly of joints.
Unprotected annular gaps around the outside diameter of flange joints allow the ingress of debris and moisture, which reduces sealing efficiency by degrading the gasket or ring joint and corroding the flange faces.
Fitting flange protectors prevents this and the resultant hazardous potential as well as costly maintenance with likely loss of production.
Offered in a range to fit all sizes and ratings of flanges, the lightweight but robust and re-usable James Walker Moorflex Flange Protectors allow quick "fit-and-forget" installation without the need to split or separate the joint, hence reducing downtime.
The protector comprises a closed cell sponge rubber liner inside a steel band with a worm drive clip that tightens it into position when wrapped around the outside of the flange in just a matter of minutes.
A lubricating nipple allows greasing of the gap between flanges and a small removable plug allows engineers to see when a flange is fully packed.
Operating at temperatures up to 120°C for standard materials, the protectors are supplied assembled and ready for installation with clear labelling of flange size.
Non-standard materials are also available for high temperature applications.
In addition, James Walker offers a complete range of complementary products including jointings, gaskets and RotaBolt tension control fasteners.
