Available from JT Day Pty Ltd , Weidmuller’s Varitector Logger 30 measures and records large current pulses as well as the frequency and time of the surge incidents.
An ideal complement to VPU surge protection devices, the Varitector Logger 30 can be simply installed on terminal rails in almost every switch cabinet using its plug-and-play housing.
Designed to count the current pulses greater than a set threshold value discharged by PE conductors on surge protection devices, the new logger can continuously record lightning strikes and surge voltages, with each measurement issued with a time stamp and both the time and date of their occurrence.
The logger features an external sensor with a ferrite toroid, which when clipped to the earth cable, detects peaks such as a lightning strike, ensuring accurate measurement of currents.
Using the information from the loggers, engineers can design and implement appropriate systems as well as tweak existing ones to ensure functioning at optimal levels and protection against surges.
Weidmuller’s Varitector Logger 30 has an operating temperature range between -20°C and +60°C and a V-0 flammability rating in accordance with UL94, and meets EN62561-6 and VDE 0185-561-6 standards.
