Plastic slip sheets available from JMP Holdings are designed to replace or supplement wooden pallets in transportation and warehouse applications.
Offering a practical, economical and environmentally sound alternative to wooden pallets and fibre slip sheets, plastic slip sheets are made primarily of recycled HDPE and provide an economical material handling solution for applications that involve push-pull devices.
The flat PE sheet is placed under a unitised load using the device, allowing it to be mobilised. The top surface of the sheet has a greater coefficient of friction (COF) that allows for the product to remain motionless. The bottom surface, known as the slip area, has far less COF, allowing for the unitised load to move freely.
Plastic slip sheets are preferred by several companies across the world for their ability to achieve considerable savings; by converting suppliers from shipping on wooden pallets to slip sheets, some companies are capable of reducing their packaging and transportation costs by over a million dollars annually.
Plastic slip sheets deliver several advantages in any packaging application; in addition to costing less than pallets, slip sheets weigh less to save on transport costs, and are only a fraction of the thickness of pallets, helping to increase space and improve the efficiency of truck loading. Slip sheets can also be reused by companies when distributing goods to their own customers.
Additional benefits of slip sheets include zero maintenance; lower handling costs; reduced loading/unloading time; no wooden pallet certification required; higher tensile strength (pull resistance); custom sizes possible easily; recyclable and reusable material; low replacement cost; warehouse space maximised; no need for pallet exchange; lightweight, bacteria resistant and moisture resistant material; and high COF non-slip surface.
