Conveyor transfer/divert modules
Conveyor transfer/divert modules

Conveyor transfers and divert modules available from JMP Australia are necessary devices in line-shaft conveyor systems.

Transfer and divert modules provide the additional handling functionality for sorting and orientating products and JMP have developed the following options for their line-shaft conveyor range:

A Pneumatic Pusher can be a cost effective method of 90° transfer when product rates are relatively low. Different versions use either rod-less or conventional pneumatic cylinders and have a variety of mounting possibilities.

The Slave-driven Chain Transfer guides products from one conveyor to another at 90°. Special ‘lube free’ chains are continuously driven off the main conveyor line-shaft and are pneumatically actuated to pop up between the conveyor rollers to transfer, or receive, a selected product. Available as a twin or triple chain unit to suit varying product sizes, this transfer has the added benefit of not requiring a separate drive.

The Dog Transfer units incorporate a drive motor and are activated ‘on demand’ when the selected product is positioned for transfer. Products are transferred at 90° to the conveyor that they are travelling on by way of UHMWPE ‘dogs’ that are connected to chains that run between the conveyor rollers. Available as a twin or triple chain unit to suit varying product sizes, this unit is less noisy than a slave chain transfer due to the fact that it only runs when required.

Another recent JMP development is the 30° Wheel Divert. These divert modules incorporate their own drive and are capable of handling higher product rates than other JMP units. A series of ‘on demand’ driven wheels running at 30° to the conveyor, are pneumatically actuated to pop up between the conveyor rollers. A smooth, quick transfer can be achieved with relatively small gaps between products. There are both 3 phase and 24VDC versions currently operating successfully in a number of installations.
