JLG Industries NSW , an Oshkosh Corporation company, continue to win awards for the LiftPod both in Australia and abroad for their design and ability to improve worker performance and safety features. The revolutionary LiftPod is the first portable aerial work platform designed to replace the ladder.
Lightweight and mobile, the LiftPod can be transported by one person on the back of a utility vehicle. LiftPod’s portability is due to their innovative and low weight design which combines a high-strength steel base with a lightweight aluminium mast and platform. The platform contains an entrance gate and a platform railing system allowing the user to work with two hands for greater productivity.
Adding to JLG Industries’ swag of accolades, the LiftPod recently won two commended awards in the 2008 Institute of Engineers Australia Sydney Division Engineering Excellence Awards.. The LiftPod won the awards despite stiff competition in the two categories in which it was entered - Research and Development, and Welfare Health and Safety.
This is in addition to winning the much coveted 2006 WorkCover NSW Safe Work Awards Category for the Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Issue. The LiftPod has met with similar success overseas. The US publication Plant Engineering called the JLG LiftPod, ‘the manufacturing industry standard for new product achievement’ when naming it ‘Product of the Year’. In their 2008 Innovative Product Awards, Rental Equipment Register named JLG industries’ LiftPod as the Grand Award winner for the most innovative product of 2008 – from any equipment category.
LiftPod was also awarded the Show Stopper Award at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) 2008 Convention and Trade Show in the US. The award was given because of LiftPod’s design and ability to improve contractor and maintenance worker performance. The innovative LiftPod continues to prove that it is a high-quality product that can improve user performance across multiple industries including plant maintenance, rental, construction, manufacturing and access.
