The company’s development in meeting local engineers and designers growing needs for display enhancement solutions has led to the introduction of the Clarex range of LCD Light Diffusion Filters.
Total Light Transmittance characteristics of filtered electronic displays can be divided into Direct Transmittance and Diffuse Transmittance.
Direct Transmittance is the portion of light that passes through the filter without being scattered or diffused by the irregularities on the surface.
Diffuse Transmittance is the portion of light that is scattered or diffused by these surface irregularities. Diffuse Transmittance is a combination of Haze and Clarity. Haze is the measurement of wide-angle light scattering, and causes a loss of contrast or milkiness. Clarity is the measure of narrow-angle light scattering, and causes the detail of an object to be compromised when viewing it though the filter.
Correct selection of an appropriate diffuser can enhance the desired performance of any colour or monochrome LCD display stack-up. The standard range of display diffusers currently offer 45% - 90% light transmittance in varying material thicknesses from 0.3mm – 2.0mm.However, for LED applications JHC can also offer diffusers from 5% - 40% light transmittance.
