JEA Technologies has been appointed the Australian and New Zealand distributor for MCF S.r.l., a leading manufacturer of Contactless Card Systems, based in Italy.
MCF supplies contactless card readers, cards, keys and tags and application software for various applications.
The MCF Universal readers are supplied as panel mount units with an illuminated bezel and are enclosed in a plastic moulded body. This offers great protection against ingress of water, dust and sand, allowing these units to be used in extreme weather and other environmental conditions. Cards can be placed next to these readers or inserted into them.
The MCF Lite readers are designed to be mounted behind a panel and cards, keys or tags are placed next to the panel to activate an event or transaction.
The MCF system uses the MIFARE ISO 14443 and ISO 15693 standards for contactless card systems, which are open standards offering very high levels of security and multi-application flexibility. Security is enhanced through use of Triple Data Encryption Standard (TDES).
The card reader units incorporate RS232 Serial, Parallel, MDB and Executive interfaces, enabling the reader to be easily integrated into a wide range of applications and systems. This makes the MCF card reader simple to integrate with other modules such as bank note validators, coin changers, printers and main logic boards.
MCF hardware is complemented by software for vending and loyalty applications as well as an Audit package that formats data from the card reader and interfaces that data with other application software packages such as EVA-DTS or Excel.
For cashless transactions, the Electronic Purse (E Purse) on the cards can be replenished by means of re-charge stations or by feeding cash into any machine equipped with the MCF Card Reader and downloading the value of those notes onto the cards.
MCF's Contactless Card Reader systems are used extensively in applications such as vending, ticketing, transit, access control, parking, loyalty and many other applications where secure cashless transactions, plus access control and loyalty programs, which bring significant benefits to an organisation.
