JCB Construction Equipment Australia
has extended its JCB Vibromax dynamic compaction equipment range available in Australia to include the full line of machines.
Designed to save the operator both time and money, the compaction rollers are seeing increased demand thanks to the strong infrastructure sector and the mining sector boom in Western Australia and Northern Queensland, according to JCB’s Vibromax Product Manager, Jon French.
The JCB Vibromax compaction rollers available in the market till date included the single drum 7.5 tonne VM75 and 11.5 tonne VM115 models. The extended line includes six additional single drum models, one twin drum model and a remote controlled model for use in trenching environments where the workplace health and safety of operators is paramount.
Jon points out the every model in the Vibromax range has the power to outperform on the tasks normally performed by larger machines. From rolling sub-base to finish rolling asphalt materials, the end result is the ability to work at maximum capacity for longer periods.
Single drum Vibromax compaction rollers
The new single drum rollers include the 4.6 tonne VM46, 13.2 tonne VM132, the 14.6 tonne VM146, the 16.6 tonne VM166 and the 20 tonne VM200 models. Drum widths range from 1400mm on the VM46 to 2100mm on all other single drum models.
All models except the VM46 and VM1500F provide operators with the choice of two vibration frequencies, making the Vibromax range of single and twin drum rollers ideal for everything from finish rolling asphalt to compaction road works, building sites, rock fill dams and highways.
The patented one-piece exciter shaft design offers several advantages including reduced maintenance resulting in reduced servicing costs and less downtime as well as better compaction performance, allowing operators to get through more work in less time.
The Switchable Anti-Slip system is also fitted to all single drum models to prevent the roller wheel from spinning and slipping when loading the machine onto steel ramps for transportation.
Twin drum Vibromax VMT260-210 compaction rollers
The 2.7 tonne VMT260-120 rollers set new benchmarks in comfort, control, reliability, serviceability and performance among twin drum models. With a twin drum width of 1200mm, the VMT260-120 is powered by an industry leading 95-litre diesel fuel tank combined with a 230-litre water tank. The large diesel tank, which is almost double that of other machines in the market offers an extra 10 hours of operation between refuelling.
The 230-litre water tank is also significantly larger than the 180-200 litre market average. Both drums feature electronically controlled hydrostatic direct drive, enabling operators to maximise performance on any application by selecting double vibration, single front vibration or single rear vibration.
The VMT260-120 is also compact enough to allow for easy transportation.
Remote controlled VM1500F compaction rollers
The remote controlled 1590kg VM1500F is ideal for use in trenches and other difficult access sites where operator workplace health and safety is paramount. Featuring 850mm drum width, nominal amplitude rated at 2.4mm and centrifugal force at 84kN, the compaction rollers deliver a compaction depth of up to 80cm.
