MINING and road construction companies, earthmoving equipment operators, farm and government contractors are being increasingly required to remove mud, dust, grass seeds and other contaminants from their equipment before they can travel on public roads or move to alternative job sites.
However finding a convenient way to provide wash down or high pressure water, on sites which do not have access to services creates another problem.
J Furphy & Sons builds a range of portable water carrying wash down and firefighting pump sets which are proving to be ideal for this task.
The carriers, which are either a bearer mounted unit which fits on a utility or small truck tray, or mounted in a permanent position, or as a fully self contained trailer, were first built to provide farmers and firefighting authorities with an emergency response tanker.
However they are finding much wider application now in general dean up and contamination prevention roles.
Keiran Cross, marketing manager of J Furphy & Sons said recent sales trends had revealed increased demand by companies involved in construction, mining and heavy industry.
"The units have proven the ideal means to wash down machine items before they leave a job site," he said.
The Furphy Water Carrier units feature a hot dip galvanised steel tank with either 770 or 950 litres capacity, complete with high quality running gear, a Honda petrol engine powered pump set, hoses and all fittings.
Numerous options are available including hydraulic over ride brakes on the trailed models where it is necessary to register the unit for travel on public roads. J Furphy and Sons 03 5382 1400.
