MITSUBISHI Electric Australia has appointed Oceania Automation as its sole distributor of factory automation products in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, effective from 1 April 2006. Rawsons Electrical remains the distributor for South Australia, as does Sardis for Western Australia.
As a result of the new arrangement, Mitsubishi Electric and Itech Corporation have concluded their 12-year relationship.
“Our state-based distribution model will provide customers with better access to our range of factory automation products and technical support,” said Paul Prudhoe, general manager, industrial automation and switchgear, Mitsubishi Electric Australia. The range includes programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, servo systems and operator interface terminals.
“Having noticed that demand in the automation market varies from state to state, as companies address different competitive pressures, we believe a state-based approach is far more flexible and can more readily respond to local market demand,” said Prudhoe.
He added, “Mitsubishi Electric is confident that customers will benefit from Oceania Automation’s 20+ years of experience with our products, particularly when it comes to their in-house technical support service.”
