ITECH Corporation , a Sydney-based technology company specialising in providing industrial automation systems, has been appointed the High Tech Authorised Distributor (HTAD) of Schneider Electric products in New South Wales and Victoria.
The arrangement with Schneider Electric (Australia) , which commences on 1 April 2006, is the first to be finalised under the group’s new HTAD channel program.
The deal was sealed on 10 February by Nick Fondas, Itech’s managing director, and Christopher Crowe, general manager sales, Schneider Electric Australia.
“Our sales focus will be totally dedicated to selling Schneider Electric’s full range of electronics products under the Merlin Gerin, Square D, Telemecanique and Modicon brands,” said Fondas.
These include variable speed drives, soft starters, intelligent motor control, safety systems, electronic sensors, PLCs and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
Fondas sees the alliance as providing “a major opportunity for Itech to grow its business as well as to fulfil a strategic segment of Schneider Electric’s marketing channels”.
As a result, Itech expects to invest in more people and broaden its business infrastructure in the near future.
In terms of customer benefits, Fondas said, “One of our great skills is to provide solutions. Itech’s partnership with one of the world’s leading automation suppliers, coupled with all the experience that we can bring to the marketplace, enhances our capabilities tremendously.”
“Customers in the market are demanding more then just a product offer,” said Crowe. “Suppliers need to really understand customer applications to develop real solution offers. Schneider Electric has identified this need and, with the HTAD program, has developed a new channel to support it.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Itech to the group. Combining their wealth of knowledge and experience with our leading product technologies means we can deliver a best-in-class solution to the customer.”
Schneider Electric sees HTAD channel partners as complementing its system integrator and wholesaler partners, completing the service offering to Australian marketplace demands.
For the past 12 years, virtually since its inception, Itech has been involved in the national distribution of PLC products.
As a systems integrator, the company has had a working relationship with Schneider Electric for the past four years.
Itech comprises three divisions: systems engineering and industrial IT, engineering services management (electrical and mechanical), and products and sales distribution.
The roles of the first two divisions remain unchanged as a result of the new agreement.
