THE new Q Series PLC, available from Itech Corporation , is the latest offering of Mitsubishi modular PLCs.

The Q Series PLC functionality includes up to four CPUs (PLC, Motion or PC-CPUs in any combination) in one system and the potential for 128MB of file memory.

The new Q Series can connect to Ethernet (100BaseTx), Modbus TCP, FL-NET (PLC to PLC Ethernet communication) Profibus, Devicenet, CC-Link and ASi Bus.

The new Q Series also has the ability to connect PC and web-based technology directly on to the PLC backplane.

The Contec PC-CPU can be mounted as one of the four CPUs in the main rack.

Through dedicated OS software the PC-CPU can be set up any way the user requires. PLC control, SCADA and data logging are all available through this one unit.

With the addition of a web server module a PC network becomes redundant as the Q handles all aspects of the internet for the user.

To support these new advances in PLC technology Mitsubishi has produced a complete support package of software. The Melsoft range of products includes OPC, DDE, MX Change, Active-X (VB, C++, VBA) and IEC61131 compatible software.

To complement Mitsubishi's backward compatible programming software GX Developer, the new Q Series has module by module configuration software to make complex motion and data applications simple.
