Available from Interworld Electronics , USB-CTR-15 USB digital counter/timer modules are manufactured by AccesI/O. The timer board provides the ideal solution for adding counter-timer capabilities to any computer with a USB port. USB-CTR-15 USB digital counter/timer modules are compatible with both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports and are fully plug-and-play compliant, allowing the module to be quickly connected or disconnected whenever additional I/O is required on the system.
The board features 5 undedicated industry standard 82C54 counters. Each 82C54 provides three 16-bit counter/timers. The clock, gate and out signals from the 15 channels are buffered and accessed via a single industry standard 50-pin connector or via the supplied terminal block adapter board. The counters can easily be cascaded to provide high resolution counting if required.
Fused +5VDC power is available at the USB-CTR-15 USB digital counter/timer modules' output connector enabling external circuits to be powered. The Fuse is resettable and is rated at 0.5A. The USB-CTR-15 USB digital counter/timer modules can be configured for frequency measurement, event counting, pulse width measurement or frequency generation. Additionally, a 10MHz clock output signal provides a reliable timebase for many applications.
The USB-CTR-15 USB digital counter/timer modules are housed inside a steel powder-coated enclosure with an anti-skid bottom. The enclosure is designed for use in rugged industrial environments but is small enough to fit onto any desk or testing station. An USB-CTR-15-OEM version is also available and consists of the PCB module supplied without a case.
The PCB size and mounting holes match the PC/104 form factor (without the bus connections). This allows the counter/timer board to be added to any PC/104 or PC/104-Plus stack by connecting it to an available USB port on the embedded CPU module. The ability to be added into pre-existing standard PC/104 based systems and enclosures makes the OEM (board only) version perfect for a variety of embedded applications.
