Interworld Electronics has recently released the PCIe-DIO series PCI-express digital I/O cards from Access I/O.
The new 48 and 24 channel digital I/O cards feature high-current TTL digital I/O and include Change of State (COS) detection and interrupt capabilities. Change of state detection is designed to relieve software from polling routines that can use up precious processing time. Each port can be programmed to detect a state changes on its lines and generate an Interrupt Request (IRQ). Then the processing steps need to be performed can be determined by the IRQ software routine.
Three models are available. The PCIe-DIO-48S and PCIe-DIO-24S provide
48 or 24 buffered digital I/O lines with 32mA source and 64 mA sink capabilities and include change of state detection. The PCIe-DIO-48 is an economy 48 line board without change of state detection.
All models provide industry standard 50-pin headers allowing ribbon cables to connect to termination boards or isolation racks. Other features include independently selectable for inputs or outputs and 5V available to on each I/O header for powering isolated input or relay outputs.
The PCIe-DIO series PCI-express digital I/O cards is designed for use in numerous applications that need 8255 PPI (mode 0) compatible digital I/O. The digital I/O cards have a x1 lane PCI Express connector that can be used in any available x1, x2, x4, x8, x12, or x16 PCI Express expansion slot.
The PCIe-DIO series digital I/O cards provide an easy upgrade path from the popular PCI-DIO series PCI cards, enabling existing PCI based applications to be ported to modern PCI-Express bus computer systems.
