Interworld Electronics has introduced their new isolated PCI Express serial communication cards series (PCIe-IM) with 2 or 4 isolated software selectable, RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 serial ports. The communications card features a x1 PCI Express connector and can be used in any available x1, x2, x4 or x8 PCI Express expansion slot.
The isolated PCIe-IM computer cards provide the necessary protection from accidental high external voltages, common-mode noise rejection in electrically noisy surroundings and eliminate group loops. These cards are ideal for factory automations, military/mission-critical, industrial ON/OFF controls, security systems, energy management, manufacturing industries, process monitoring and kiosk applications.
Interworld Electronic’s PCIe-IM Series communication equipment provides +/-15kV ESD protection with 2kV isolation between channels, the PC bus line and ground on all signals. Each RS-232 can support data commucation rates up to 921.6 kbps and provide full modem control signals to ensure compatibility with a broad variety of serial devices. The RS-422 and RS-485 modes support data rates up to 3Mps.
Industry standard DB9M connectors are used on each card of the PCIE-IM Series. These communication cards feature 16C950 UARTS and use 128-byte transmit/receive FIFO buffers to decrease CPU loadings and protect against data lot in multitasking systems.
Interworld Electronic’s PCIe-IM Series communication cards install on as standard COM ports in all operating systems, including Linux, Mac OSX and Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7.
