Interworld Electronics  announces the release of Pico-II8IDO4A I/O modules from Acces I/O Products Inc.  

Designed for expansion on Pico-ITXe single board computers, these dense, multifunction modules feature eight individual optically isolated inputs, four fully protected solid-state FET outputs capable of switching up to 3A each and two 16-bit analogue inputs.

The isolated digital inputs are polarity insensitive and accept AC or DC voltages up to 31VDC or AC RMS.  

In addition, jumper selectable filtering per input channel in these modules reduces high frequency AC and voltage transients.  

The analogue inputs accept unipolar 0-5V signals and can sustain up to 4K samples per second.

The tiny module occupies just half the area of a PC/104 board making the Pico-II8IDO4A I/O modules perfect for deployment into space-limited applications.  

Bus and power connections are built on the SUMIT (Stackable Unified Module Interconnect Technology) connector, which allows simple connection of PCI Express, LPC, SPI and USB 2.0 buses.  

The SUMIT connector allows up to four Pico I/O modules to be stacked on a single Pico-ITXe processor board.

The PICO-II8IDO4A is a range of high speed USB 2.0 devices that utilises a custom-designed driver optimised for maximum data throughput 50-100 times faster than the USB human interface device (HID) driver used by many competing products.

The optical isolation makes the I/O modules ideal for use in control and instrumentation applications where high-voltage protection is required.  

With appropriate sensors, the two 16-bit analogue inputs provided by the Pico-II8IDO4A allow the monitoring of a variety of system parameters such as voltage, temperature and humidity.
