Interworld Electronics  have released the new SMK series 1U industrial LCD monitor keyboard drawers. Combining a display, a keyboard with built-in pointing device and a KVM Switch in a compact unit that measures only 1U in height, the SMK Series is a suitable solution for compacting more computing power into a limited space.

The SMK series is integrated with a 17" or 19" high brightness, high contrast, fast response VGA LCD screens featuring 1280x1024 resolution, 300 Nits brightness and 500:1 contrast range. The LCD screen can be tilted and retracted effortlessly on slide rails into the 1U 19" rack mount cabinet.

The SMK series supports both PS/2 and USB keyboard/mouse connections without the need for additional adapters. The standard keyboard provides 105 keys and integrates a separate numeric keypad and twelve function keys. Single cable from the SMK to each computer carries the VGA, Keyboard and Touchpad signals reducing the need for complex wiring looms.

The SMK series includes three basic models. The SMK-920 is a single port USB only keyboard/mouse connection for connecting to s single server or existing KVM switch box. The SMK-980 and SMK-990 include built in 8-port or 16-port KVM switches that support both PS/2 and USB connections.

The KVM provides push button switching as well as integrated OSD and hot keys to help control and manage the switching of multiple systems. The SMK series KVM switches can be expanded with additional 8-port or 16-port allowing additional servers to be added to the system. In addition, an optional CAT5 or KVM over IP extender provides support for one local console and one remote console.

The SMK series is fully compatible with DOS, Windows, Netware, SCO and HP Unix and Linux. An optional 107 key keyboard and three button touchpad is available for 100% compatibility with Sun System Solaris.
