Intermec, Mobile Tornado partnership provides additional revenue streams for channel partners

Intermec  and Mobile Tornado have entered pan-EMEA partnership to provide Push To Talk (PTT) over cellular services on Intermec rugged CN3 handheld computers is forecast to offer channel partners an additional high-margin recurring revenue stream.

Under this new agreement, low cost cellular based instant communications becomes available to organisations looking to enhance the productivity and efficiency of their mobile workers.

This is achieved through the PTT feature on the Intermec CN3, which allows a user to urgently communicate with a supervisor to answer a customer query in the field and further empowers the employee to resolve customer disputes at the doorstep through immediate dialogue with their head office.

The Mobile Tornado instant communications application is built on a patented IPRS communications platform. This combined with a reliable infrastructure and 24x7 support allows partners the opportunity to offer new revenue generating services to existing or potential customers using, or considering deploying, the market-leading Intermec small, rugged CN3 handheld computer.

As well as being able to put forward innovative and proven technology that answers a rapidly growing market need, other factors that make the CN3 with PTT such an attractive proposition for partners is the speed to market possible – partners can be confidently selling the Intermec CN3 with PTT within weeks with little or no training required.

Additionally with the managed service model used by Intermec and Mobile Tornado, the sales barrier is reduced as there are no upfront or capital costs and all billing is based on per-user per-month with no additional charge for PTT airtime usage.

A further feature is the self-service partner portal with provisioning and other value added service that simplifies and automates the provisioning process.
