Intermec Aust introduces PB2 and PB3 Wearable Mobile Receipt Printers

Intermec Aust announce the PB2 and PB3 commercial mobile receipt printers providing wearable receipt printing solutions for DSD/route accounting, retail queue busting and field service applications. The lightweight two-inch and three-inch printers complement the Intermec CN3 series, and new CK3 mobile computers.

"We are seeing strong growth in market demand for two-inch and three-inch value-based receipt printers, particularly among customers with a large, field-based workforce that is routinely churning out receipts,” said VDC analyst David Krebs.

“With the compact PB2 and PB3, Intermec addresses this market opportunity and also fills a void in its mobile printer portfolio. Moreover, the turnkey, integrated solution that Intermec can provide with its mobile computing, mobile printing and printer media offerings drives real value for its customers.”

The Intermec PB2 and PB3 printers are available with optional magnetic stripe reader, allowing workers to accept payments via their mobile computer or printer. Payments can be processed on the go and receipts generated immediately, making customer satisfaction and increased productivity easy.

Designed to support mobility, the printers can be worn all day using the belt loop system that comes standard with every printer, or the optional shoulder strap. Hands-free options also include a weather-resistant, IP54-rated environmental case that adds protection for outdoor applications such as electronic citations, postal delivery, and car rental return processing without impairing mobility.

Unlike other mobile printers that need to be plugged in and idle while recharging, the PB2 and PB3 printers feature field-replaceable batteries that can be charged independent of the printer.

The printers are part of a complete Intermec solution encompassing receipt media, Medallion Support services, and secure wireless interface via Bluetooth or 802.11g with Intermec rugged mobile computers.

“We designed the PB2 and PB3 printers to increase productivity for workers on the go with low upfront purchase cost,” said Earl Thompson, Sr. Vice President & GM of the Intermec Mobile Solutions Business Unit.

“The devices support our mission to provide integrated printing and computing solutions that enable businesses to enhance supply chain operations and maximise profit.”
