Idaho-based ECCO (Electronic Controls Company) has acquired 25 licences of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM software, using the technology for greater efficiency and increased productivity in their operations.
SolidWorks Enterprise Product Data Management software has helped ECCO implement an automated, paperless design and approval process, eliminating delays and associated costs.
ECCO is a world-leading manufacturer of emergency warning products such as back-up alarms and amber warning lights for commercial vehicles.
Expanding into new markets led the Idaho-based company to evaluate product data management (PDM) technology as a means for generating greater efficiencies and increased productivity. To achieve a high level of automation, the company needed to customise the solution to integrate with its core business applications.
ECCO acquired 25 licences of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM software for advantages such as ease of use, full integration with SolidWorks 3D design software, and open Application Programming Interface (API) development tools.
According to Todd Mansfield, Systems Engineering Team Leader at ECCO, SolidWorks Enterprise PDM is helping them leverage automation and get work done faster and more cost-effectively. The company has derived considerable benefits in terms of results, collaboration, implementation, data exchange, total cost of ownership, manufacturability and automated documentation.
- Realised a 25-30% reduction in design review and approval time
