Sam2W, a dual band external modem, is designed with a RJ45 connection and can be used for GSM and GPRS modems. Australian and worldwide electricity meter manufacturers and distributors use Sam2W for various machine to machine communications.
The stand alone InterCEL Sam2W modem is also available for CDMA mobile applications and the modem is designed with plug and play installations. The modem is designed with SMS, fax and CSD and GPRS data capability. Features of Sam2W modem are a input voltage connector, antenna connector and RS232 data connector.
The GPRS packet data include features such as GPRS class 10, coding schemes CS1 to CS4, compliant with SMG31bis, PBCCH support and embedded IP/TCP stack, which is an optional feature. The SMS features are text, PDU, point to point and cell broadcast.
The other features of the stand alone InterCEL Sam2W modem are ME + SIM phone book management, real time clock, alarm management, upgradable software, sliding SIM holder, fixed dialling number and network and service provider lock facility.
