Integrity Pumps and Engineering now have plenty of Wilden Teflon gasket kits available in all the relevant sizes and in a variety of Wilden pumps to ensure the highest seal quality.
It is the inherent properties of 100% PTFE, or Teflon, fluorocarbon that allows these gaskets to easily conform to irregular surfaces, while providing additional deflection and positive sealing between wetted pump components.
The most chemically lifeless material known to man, Teflon provides superior chemical resistance and a longer life, making it the ideal material for gaskets to be constructed from.
The Wilden Teflon gasket kit material is installed during the assembly of most of Wilden pumps fitted with Teflon diaphragms. This sealing material comes in two forms; tape to be applied on the water chamber diaphragm beads and gasket to seal ball seats and T-sections.
Teflon also does not have any “memory” or elasticity and will not return to its original shape once compressed. This means that the gaskets and tape are not reusable and must be replaced each time the Wilden pump is disassembled. The Wilden Teflon gasket kit contains sufficient material to seal one pump at a time.
When using Wilden Teflon gasket kits it is important to inspect all surfaces to be sealed and ensure that they are clean and free of all foreign matter and obstructions. Any nicks or scars on the sealing surface should be deburred and smoothed to produce an improved sealing surface. Proper alignment of wetted parts is necessary to ensure seal integrity in all Wilden pumps.
